Wednesday Electronic School Day

Here are the assignments for today's electronic school day, Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Please complete all work and bring to school on Thursday. Call Mrs. Fox (3603) if you have any questions.

Reading –
By the Great Horn Spoon – Read ch. 7
Research why the weather becomes so stormy as you travel around Cape Horn and write a one page report on it.

Loser – Read ch. 13
Why does Zinkoff call sleep "the curse of the human race"? Write one paragraph in response to this question.
If you were Zinkoff and had surgery and missed school for 3 weeks how would you spend your time? Write a paragraph.

Because of Winn Dixie – Read ch. 10 & 11
Describe what happens to Winn-Dixie during the storm. Write at least a paragraph (3-5 sentences) telling what happened in your own words.

MATH

 Go to http://www.aplusmath.com/Worksheets/index.html and find Online Worksheets (it's on the right side of the page). Select "Division". 
Group 54 select "Up to 144" and do 20 problems.
Groups 65 and 76 select "3 into 5" and do 20 problems.
All groups click "get answers" when done, then print out your work. Bring this to school to turn in.

Then, go to www.sheppardsoftware.com and spend at least 20 minutes playing any Math games of your choice.

Spelling
Go to www.spellingcity.com, type in all 14 of your spelling words. Then, play the game "Which Word Sentences. Next, play the game called "Unscramble". Then, play "Spelling TestMe" and print out your results to turn in tomorrow.

Science
Research 5 different types of volcanic, or igneous, rocks. In your own words, write a paragraph about each one. Then, draw a picture and color it the correct color of the rock. Examples of igneous rocks: andesite, basalt, pumice, obsidian, granite, gabbro, etc.


Bible – keep memorizing Ephesians 4:32 NLT
Memorize first 15 books of Bible in order – quiz on Fri
Read Acts 9:32-43

Lang Arts – finish Senior Pal letter
